J Collins Medals Limited do not store customer data in any form, except what is required by law for Income Tax and VAT calculations by our Chartered Accountant.
We do not share customer information with any other person or persons in any form except when required by law, for instance in a police investigation.
All items listed for sale carry a guarantee of authenticity in every respect, any alterations to naming, damage etc will be included in the description, a full money back guarantee of satisfaction is offered with all our items, please return within 30 days. We are members of the Federation of Small Businesses and abide by their code of practice, we are fully insured for losses, damage, theft etc. We are unable to offer refunds on items that have been advertised for re sale.
Where advertised, all research documentation will accompany the medal, where a copy of a medal roll entry is included, this is a copy of the entry on the original medal roll held at the National Archives not from a published source.
J Collins Medals Ltd reserve the right to terminate any sale at any time that is considered not in the best interests of our vendors / clients for any reason.
J Collins Medals Ltd use the DHL courier service only for high value overseas items, we can also ship UK inland using Hermes courier service as an alternative to Royal Mail.
We will consider selling on a commission basis, the fee for this is 15% including VAT of the selling price effective from 1st January 2019, negotiable on higher value items. Payments are made to the vendor as soon as payment has cleared our account and the buyer has received the Medal(s) following cleared payment, preferable by on line bank transfer, please supply your account details when sending items.
We request all research is sent with the item you wish to sell, any additional research required will be notified to the vendor and a fee may be charged for this.
J Collins Medals Limited reserve the right to return any items received for commission sale, without listing, that are found to be not as described in regards naming, condition, entitlement to clasps, etc.
An increasingly popular alternative to auction, faster listing, faster payment to the vendor, excellent write ups and care with presentation, seller in control of pricing with advice on current market values, fully insured, higher prices often realised as no buyers premium charged to our buyers, currently auction houses charging between 20% and 25% plus VAT . Payment by on line transfer so funds are with you instantly.
Please note the minimum commssion fee per lot is £10 Items are sold on a first come first served basis, orders may be placed by phone, text or email. We cannot accept reservations by text or email unless full name, address and contact telephone number is supplied, in some cases a deposit will be required before reservation. Items are marked available, reserved when ordered and sold when full payment has been received.
Payment is required within five days of placing an order unless by prior arrangement. No reminder for payment will be sent and the item will be offered to the next person in line after expiry of the reservation period.
In all instances where a lay away period for payment or delayed has been agreed a 10% deposit is required at the time of reservation. Payment may be made by Credit Card, Debit card, Paypal or Bank Transfer (Details on request) We accept VISA, MAESTRO & MASTERCARD Paypal payments are subject to a 4% surcharge, our Paypal account is Jonathan@jcollinsmedals.co.uk I am sorry we no longer accept cheques as all banks locally have closed, a delay of three to four weeks of receiving the cheque and paying it in was causing unnecessary delay in dispatch of the order. Postage is charged extra on all items and will be quoted when an order is placed. We will consider part exchange for items, if you are considering this please contact us. We are keen to buy British Decorations and Medals and are happy to quote a buying price for items of interest.
